introduction
a necrotising
vasculitis
affecting children involving the medium sized arteries with a predilection for the coronary arteries
diagnostic criteria
fever persisting for at least five days, plus 4 of the following 5 features:
changes in peripheral extremities or perineal area
polymorphous exanthema
bilateral conjunctival injection
inflammatory changes of lips (eg. dry, cracked lips) and oral cavity
cervical lymphadenopathy
