fibrotic lung diseases caused by inhalation of dusts in occupational exposures
these are generally not treatable and may result in progressive pulmonary fibrosis and eventually respiratory failure, and in some cases may result in lung cancers (eg. mesothelioma with asbestosis)

byssinosis - due to factory workers of vegetable fibres such as flax (linen), cotton, hemp or sisal but the lung disease differs in pattern to the other pneumoconioses
