AI agents to create computer code
see also:
Introduction
- AI can be utilised to find errors in computer code and can create computer code from a text prompt (and in some visual models, from a diagramatic schema in an image file)
- many versions of AI Large Language Models (LLMs) have been optimised to generate computer code, an example is OpenAI's GPT Pilot (see example below)
OpenAI's GPT Pilot
-
- shows how to add GPT Pilot as an extension app to the Visual Studio Code app and then run it (you will need an OpenAI API key)
- demonstrates how GPT Pilot can generate a full stack app to create a node.js app to display a register/ login page to a user and on registering, save the details in a Mongo no SQ database and then display a successful login web page to the user with the user's user name displayed.
- As it installs the necessary dependencies for the app (with your permission each time) and then builds the app, it continuously keeps you updated on progress and prompts you when you need to manually add settings or test components
- the OpenAI pay-as-you-use fee to do this was ~$US2
