see also:
Introduction
- Australia has banned most of these aids, especially UV tanning clinics which obviously will increase skin ageing and cancer risks
Intranasal Melanotan-II
- see also unregulated peptides
- illegal agent in Australia, not approved by the TGA
- acts on normal melatonin receptors to induce tan
- they claim that a spray in each nostril every day for two weeks, then a lower maintenance dosage after that, achieves a natural tan that can last up to six months
- has many adverse effects:
- nausea, vomiting
- flushing
- acne
- may rarely cause potentially fatal acute kidney injury (AKI) / acute renal failure (ARF) or cerebral oedema
