ibogaine

Introduction

ibogaine is a psychoactive alkaloid derived from the root bark of the African shrub Tabernanthe iboga
it has been used in trials for significantly and rapidly reducing cravings for certain substances of addiction such as cocaine, metamphetamine, opioids, but is not currently generally available in Australia.
it's use requires close medical monitoring due to potential life threatening cardiac arrhythmias from its propensity to cause prolonged QTc
treatment is said to involve an intense, 24- to 72-hour psychological experience characterized by deep introspection, vivid internal imagery, and emotional processing ¹⁾
