- cholesterol embolism
- frostbite
- vascular compromise of skin flaps or traumatised end-artery regions
- extravasation of vasoconstrictors such as adrenaline / epinephrine
- prolonged high dose of vasoconstrictors (eg. use in septic shock, etc)
- pyoderma gangrenosum
- warfarin-induced skin necrosis (<0.1% patients starting on warfarin)
